Litter box company flooded with negative Amazon reviews after allegedly KILLING cats

Customers are outraged over allegations that a type of self-cleaning litter boxes are allegedly killing cats.

Cat product reviewer Philip Bloom highlight the potentially lethal robotic boxes on his YouTube channel One Man Five Cats on Saturday.

He highlighted an example of a woman named Carli Jay who shared in a since-deleted TikTok that an automatic litter box she bought off of Amazon allegedly killed her beloved Siamese cat named Mochi.

‘I went to find my cat and she was hanging from her litter box. It had closed on her neck and her body was hanging out and there was blood, red stuff, all over like everywhere and she was gone,’ Jay said through tears.

Bloom claimed the mother used a type of litter box sold under the brand Amztoy on Amazon that rotates on the Y-axis rather than the X-axis to clean the box.

He demonstrated the alleged design flaw on a similar product he purchased from Ali Express with a stuffed animal and showed that models entrance completely closes when it cleans.

If the sensors malfunction and fail to detect a cat was near or in the box, the animal could get trapped inside or caught as the door shuts.

Amztoy models of the litter box have been taken off Amazon, but Bloom found several other companies selling the robotic boxes with the same design.

Enraged customers have been flooding the reviews of these similar products warning others of the risk they pose.

‘This is very dangerous for cats as it can guillotine your cat. I cannot express enough not to buy this as this has killed many cats,’ one reviewers said on a Catlk product, which seemingly had a replication of the design.

‘Will quite literally guillotine your cat,’ another person said in a similar CozyBlue product review.

On reviewer said of a Kikquze litter box: ‘Flawed sensor that will trap your cat and kill them. Beware, this product is under different sellers. DO NOT BUY ITS A SCAM.’

DailyMail.com has reached out to Amazon, Catlk, CozyBlue, Kikguze and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission for comment on this story.

No official recall has been issued for these types of litter boxes.

Increasing numbers of cat owners have opted for automatic litter boxes to avoid scooping the tray multiple times a day and collecting the waste on a regular basis.

Bloom recommends avoiding generic machines and stick to established brands.
