Fans of Lord of the Rings can now snap up their dream home which has its own Hobbit House in the garden for just £1.25million.

The five-bedroom property which dates back to 1933, boasts three reception rooms, three bathrooms and a games room.

While it may look like an ordinary home in the heart of the English countryside,  it holds a secret gem in its stunning garden.

At the foot of the three acre garden of the house in Oxford is circular-doored out-building that looks like it is straight from Middle Earth.

The Hobbit House is cut into a hill, but also has electricity plugs inside so prospective buyers can make a brew while sat inside.

The summer house looks identical to the one Bilbo Baggins lived in at the opening of The Hobbit and he and son Frodo live in at the start of the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

The unique house is currently on the market with estate agents Penny and Sinclair.

It’s website reads: ‘A well proportioned detached house dating back to 1933 and situated in a secluded and magical third of an acre with a maze of pathways, dry stone walls, mature trees and extensive planting.’

It adds it boasts: ‘A hill as tall as the house giving views clear across Oxford and at the top of that a ‘hobbit house’ built into the landscape.’

Author J.R.R Tolkien wrote all four books while living in Oxford.

He moved to the city in 1911 to study classics at Oxford University’s Exeter College and spent 50 years of his adult life there.
