Love Island’s Jessie Wynter blasts co-stars for dumping her and boyfriend Will Young before final

Love Island star Jessie Wynter has slammed her co-stars for dumping her and boyfriend Will Young before the final.

The Australian reality star, 26, entered the villa as a bombshell and quickly hooked up with farmer Will, 23.

The couple, who were dumped from the ITV2 show days before the final in South Africa, have been inseparable since flying back to London.

Jessie has now claimed the decision was a ‘cop out’ as many of them wanted to make it to the final.

She told The Sun: ‘In the villa, everyone applauded our relationship so when they decided to say we weren’t compatible, I think they knew we were very happy. I think it also was a bit of a cop out because they could always use the excuse of Jessie’s from Australia.

Jessie continued: ‘I personally think it’s the opposite because if you’re going to move country for someone, you’re probably going to spend more time with them instead of a three hour commute between London and Manchester or what not.

‘They knew we were compatible. It is sad it happened the way it did. I know how much the other islanders wanted to make the final. I know it meant a lot to them.

‘Even though I went on Love Island Australia, I haven’t watched Love Island, I don’t watch much TV. The other people in the villa are Love Island fans so for them to go to the final is massive for them.’

She ended the chat by claiming she and Will are ‘not going to take offence to it’ as they believe they are genuine.

It comes after Jessie revealed she tried to quit the show but producers told her she couldn’t.

Viewers watched their romance blossom for eight weeks in the Love Island villa, but it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the couple, whose relationship was thrown into doubt after Will kissed Layla Al-Momani during the Casa Amor loyalty test.

Jessie confessed to being ‘shattered’ by Will’s actions, while he considered quitting the show if he failed to win her back.

Speaking about the moment she found about Will’s infidelity during Casa Amor, she told The Useless Helpline Podcast: ‘I was like, ‘That’s it I’m done. I’m done with Will, I’m done with the villa’.

‘And then production were like, ‘Er no, that’s not happening, you can’t do that, you can’t just leave.”

However, as seen in previous seasons, producers have ensured if for any reason an Islander does feel they want to leave the Villa then they can.

Jessie, who’s a personal trainer from Tasmania and currently lives in Sydney, found fame on the Australian series of Love Island in 2019.

It comes after Will gushed about having found the love of his life on the ITV2 show and how he has big hopes for their future.

He said: ‘I wouldn’t be with her if I thought she wasn’t marriage material. Our plan is to split our time between the UK and Tasmania.’

Will and Jessie missed out on reaching the show’s final by one day after failing to secure the public vote after all of the couples were asked to pick which pair they thought was the least compatible.

But that doesn’t seem to have deterred any future plans for the pair, with Will being open to travel in order to keep their relationship alive.

After leaving South Africa, the sheep farmer said: ‘I think it’s very fair to say I would go to Australia.

‘A relationship is a two-way thing. It would be unfair for me to rely on Jessie moving here 100%. Australia has always been a place I’d like to go to and travel.’

Yet despite his willingness to fly half way round the world, Will has made sure to show Jessie all the important sights of the UK whilst she’s here, including Buckingham Palace and of course, the local Tesco.

Speaking exclusively to MailOnline , they told of their keenness to live and work together on Will’s Buckinghamshire farm just in time for lambing season.

Their decision comes after Will revealed veteran Countryfile host John Craven ‘slid into his DMs’ to congratulate him for endorsing farming to younger audiences.

Will said: ‘Jessie is moving to the farm for the next month or two and she will be doing lambing and all of that, which I’m super, super excited about.

‘When she visited for the first time this week, I gave her some wellies and she was getting really stuck in and feeding the animals, it made me fall in love with her even more.’

Will and Jessie spent one night apart when they landed on UK soil but the smitten couple, who met eight weeks ago on the dating series, say they found being separated ‘horrible.’

Indeed, the frisky pair admit they’ve barely left the bedroom now the cameras are no longer rolling.

Jessie said: ‘It’s 100 times better now we’re out the villa. It is a million times better, I’ll tell you that much.’

Love Island viewers crowned schoolteacher Kai Fagan and social worker Sanam Harrinanan winners on Monday after they earned 44 per cent of the public vote, beating Ron Hall and Lana Jenkins.

Will and Jessie believe the right couple won the £50,000 cash prize and say they were focussed on their relationship from the moment they met.

Jessie said: ‘They were mature and stayed out of the drama. I’m so happy for them.

‘They were there to concentrate on themselves and that’s what they did. Perhaps we weren’t as close to them, Kai I didn’t really get to know but it’s good seeing such a pure couple, a teacher and social worker, win Love Island.’
