Luis Suárez renews his wedding vows with wife Sofia Balbi during star-studded Boxing Day ceremony with personalised diamond initial rings
They tied the knot for the first time in 2009.
And Luis Suárez and his wife Sofia Balbi decided to celebrate their ten-year anniversary by renewing their wedding vows during a romantic Boxing Day ceremony at a five-star hotel in their homeland of Uruguay on Thursday.
The Barcelona striker, 32, and his childhood sweetheart, 30, made sure they saw out the decade in style with star-studded guests including fellow footballers Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba.

The couple said ‘I do’ with personalised diamond initial rings, with Luis wearing a ‘SB’ sparkly band and Sofia matching with a ‘LS’ version.
And the personalised details didn’t stop there, with Luis and Sofia posing on a red carpet with a black wall behind them decorated with their initials and hearts in silver.
Sofia looked sensational for her wedding ceremony in a white figure-hugging jewel-encrusted gown with a long sheer patterned train.
She styled her blonde locks into a glamorous blow-dried hairdo, she added a slick of make-up to enhance her pretty features and a collection of diamond jewellery, including her wedding rings.

Meanwhile, Luis looked dapper in a blue Dolce & Gabbana silk patterned trouser suit with a matching waistcoat, crisp white shirt and a dark tie.
Lionel Messi attended the ceremony with his wife Antonella Roccuzzo and eldest son Thiago, seven.
Sergio Busquets was joined by his partner Elena Galera while Jordi Alba attended with his partner Romarey Ventura.
The religious ceremony took place on the hotel terrace and was officiated by priest Juan Andres Verde, described locally as a friend of Suarez and his wife.
The footballer told waiting press after renewing his vows: ‘It’s a very important day for us’ before joking: ‘My wife’s the most difficult defender, the one I can’t escape from.’
Sofia, mum to the couple’s three children Delfina, nine; Benjamin, six; and Laurato, one, hinted something was in the works last month when she took to Instagram to say: ‘Counting the day to say YES again! #10 years.’
In the past, Luis has sweetly credited wife Sofia for helping him to achieve his football career, he told the Liverpool Echo: ‘At 15, I found a girlfriend that sorted my head out. It helped me realise how [important] soccer was for me.’
‘I was going out at night, I didn’t enjoy studying, and I wasn’t dedicating myself to football.
‘There were some people around me who were a bad influence. She gave me a lot of confidence and helped me believe in myself.’
