Madonna, 61, says ‘indescribable pain’ made her cancel Miami show

Madonna cancelled her Miami concert on Sunday night just two hours before showtime, leaving fans outraged.

The Queen of Pop offered no explanation until early Wednesday morning as to why she made the decision to pull the plug on the latest date on her Madame X tour.

The 61-year-old singer took to Instagram to offer a lengthy explanation – saying ‘indescribable’ pain from a past injury meant she had to call off the show.

Explanation: Madonna cancelled her Madame X tour performance in Miami on Sunday night just two hours before showtime – and has now broken her silence to reveal she was in ‘indescribable pain’

As part of her routine for her single Batuka, the US artist climbs a ladder backstage and appears facing fans on top of a mock up set of steps.

She said that when she climbed the ladder in Miami she was ‘in tears from the pain of my injuries’, which she said had been ‘indescribable for the past few days.’

‘With every song I sang, I said a prayer that I would make it to the next and get thru the show. My prayers were answered, and I made it,’ she said.

‘I consider myself a warrior. I never quit, I never give in, I never give up!! However this time I have to listen to my body. And accept that my pain is a warning.’

She then reiterated the fact that she is a ‘fighter’ by citing the words to her song Batuka in which she sings ‘things have got to change’, and adding: ‘And they will because MADAME X is a fighter!!’

Madonna did not specify what her injury was but the star was also forced to cancel a show in October because of a knee injury sustained beforehand.

She was expected to perform at New York’s BAM Howard Gilman Opera House on October 7, but had to reschedule her gig.

The mega star said on Instagram at the time: ‘I am not a quitter. This hurts me more than you can imagine. Its time to take those heels and fishnets off for a few days!. Thank you for your understanding. See you very soon !!’ [sic]

Her most recent cancellation came as DailyMail.com revealed that Guy Ritchie filed a motion in their divorce case asking for ‘the enforcement or execution of a judgment or order’ in Manhattan Supreme Court.

The timing of the motion – which was filed on December 23, a day after her cancelled show – suggests that there could be a disagreement over where some of Madonna’s six children should be spending Christmas.

The motion in the case was filed at the Manhattan Supreme Court in Madonna and Ritchie’s divorce case.

The matter was settled in 2008 but any disputes over their children are dealt with there.

The night before the filing, Madonna’s angered fans by cancelling her Miami performance of the Madame X tour with such little explanation.

Enraged fans took to Twitter disappointed in the cancellation and looking for answers.

Others claim a ‘furious’ Madonna threw a tantrum during warm ups, fired two employees and then canceled the show.

‘She threw a fit rehearsals and was upset for low ticket sales and the venues unprofessionalism and said she’s out,’ one Facebook user said.

The 61-year-old’s team has yet to give a reason for the cancellation nor have they confirmed or denied the reports of an alleged tantrum.

Madonna – who was recently pictured with new toyboy Ahlamalik Williams in Miami – and Ritchie have a son Rocco, 19, together over whom they waged a bitter and public custody battle over in courts in London and New York.

That ended in 2016 with Rocco being allowed to live in the UK with his father, a director whose films include Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

During her eight year marriage to Ritchie Madonna adopted David Banda, 14, from Malawi. Their younger son has recently been spending time with Ritchie in London.

The court docket states that the defendant, in this case Ritchie, 50, has filed a motion asking for ‘enforcement or execution of a judgement or order’.

The matter has not been ruled on by Judge Deborah Kaplan, who is overseeing the case.

During the previous dispute over Rocco, Christmas was the cause of a flare up in 2015.

At that time Judge Kaplan ordered the boy, who was 15 at the time, to return to New York to be with his mother but Ritchie’s lawyers said he did not want to.

Ritchie and Madonna got married in 2000 in Skibo Castle in Scotland in a high profile ceremony attended by Gwyneth Paltrow, Donatella Versace and Stella McCartney.

Under the terms of their divorce he reportedly got around $92 million, which includes the Punchbowl pub in Mayfair, London that they owned and their estate in Wiltshire.

Madonna has occasionally spoken about their marriage and in an interview with Newsweek she said that the romance died.

She said: ‘When you start off, everything’s great and lovely, and the person you’ve married is flawless, and you’re flawless.

‘Then time goes by, and you share a life, you have children, and there are cracks in the veneer.’

In another interview she said that at times she ‘felt incarcerated’ by Ritchie.

She said: ‘If you’re an artist you’ve got to find someone who accepts who you are and are comfortable with that.’

Ritchie has been far more vocal and has said that whilst he does not regret his time with Madonna, the drama was too much and that their life became a ‘soap opera’.

Friends of his have also claimed that her strict diet, her Kabbalah religion and obsession with yoga made her hard to live with.

After divorcing Madonna Ritchie, 50, married his second wife Jacqui Ainsley in 2015, with whom he has three children.

In July they posed with David Banda at the premiere of the Lion King in London where the boy beamed a smile as he wore black tie.

Madonna has four other children, Lourdes, 23, Mercy James, 13, who was adopted from Malawi, as were twins Stelle and Estere, 7.

The star has recently moved to Portugal to be nearer David Banda and to help his career in soccer as he trains there with Benfica.

Her latest social media posts give no clue about the nature of the dispute.

She is currently on her Madame X world tour, though she is taking a break for Christmas.

Her latest post on Instagram was video of a group of women singing. She wrote: ‘Thank you so much to all the lovely Batukadeira’s!! You mean the World to me! And Of course I will Rise and hopefully see you all very soon!! #family #iiwillrise #madamextheatre

Madonna has recently been dating a new toyboy, Ahlamalik Williams, 26, a backup dancer who she was seen in Miami with her on the Florida leg of her tour.

His parents have reportedly given their consent to their relationship despite the 35-year age gap.
