Look of love: Mama June Shannon admitted she has a new man in her life and he will be unveiled during season two of her docu-series Mama June: From Not to Hot
Mama June Shannon has opened up about her new romance.
The 38-year-old, who is yet to reveal the identity of her boyfriend, says the pair met through mutual friends.
He is set to appear on her WE tv series, and she admits she was initially concerned people would think he was with her ‘just for the money’.
She told UsWeekly: ‘That’s not the case. He makes very good money. He does remodeling and construction work, so he makes good money himself.’
She also insisted that he didn’t know she was famous when they met.
‘His kids knew, but he didn’t,’ she adds. ‘I was like, ‘Did you live underneath a rock?’ He was like, ‘No.’ He just doesn’t watch reality TV. I mean, you know, he does now watch the show, but he doesn’t care two cents less about the cameras.
‘Outside of this, we are a very normal, everyday crazy bunch.’
Her daughter Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson, 12, approves of the new relationship.
‘I’m very proud that Mama got with him because she smiles if you say anything about him.
Mama June said she’s open to the idea of marrying her new ‘one-of-a-kind’ man.
The reality star split from her husband Sugar Bear – real name Mike Thompson – in September 2014.
Sugar Bear admitted to cheating on her with men on during a stint on the reality TV show Marriage Boot Camp. She also claimed he ’emotionally and physically abused her,’ which he denies.

He has since moved on with Jennifer Lamb, whom he married last year.
Mama June was motivated to lose weight following their split and went on to lose 300lbs with the help of a gastric sleeve and skin removal surgery.
Mama June’s romantic life caused outrage in 2014 when she rekindled her romance with convicted sex offender Mark McDaniel. Her oldest daughter Anna ‘Chickadee’ Cardwell accused McDaniel of molesting her when she was 8-years-old.
