  • A 44-year-old man was arrested and charged with the alleged murder of a baby 
  • Police also arrested and charged a 36-year-old woman over the alleged murder
  • The five-week-old boy was found unresponsive at Brisbane caravan park in 2021
  • The pair will face Beenleigh Magistrates Court charged with one count of murder

A man and a woman have been charged with the murder of a five-week-old boy, after he was found unresponsive in a caravan park.

Detectives from the Logan Child Protection and Investigation Unit raided a home in Yatala in the Gold Coast at 7 am on Wednesday, where the 44-year-old Stretton man was arrested.

Police also arrested the 36-year-old woman at Zillmere around the same time.

The baby was found at a Daisy Hill caravan park on Old Chatswood Road in Brisbane’s south in June last year

Both were charged with with one count of murder and were known to the child. 

The baby was found at a Daisy Hill caravan park on Old Chatswood Road in Brisbane’s south in June last year. 

Paramedics arrived at the park at 6.45pm on June 14 2021 and found the young boy. 

The child was taken to Logan Hospital where he was declared dead around 8.30pm. 

Police are now appealing to anyone with information regarding the death of this baby, to come forward.
