Man who called mothers and said their children were dead caught on CCTV

A man who contacted mothers posing as a policeman as he told them haunting lies has been caught making his evil calls on CCTV footage.

Phillip Anton Zillner stalked women on social media before phoning them to say their children had been hit by a truck.

The 37-year-old was filmed making the evil calls from a phone booth in South Australia to the Ballarat and Tullamarine mothers.

‘I’m Paul Simpson from Emergency Services, your daughter has been hit by a truck and I’m sorry she has passed away,’ he said in one of the calls, Nine News reported.

‘Your daughter has been hit by a truck out front of the school,’ he said in another call.

The court heard that Zillner contacted the women again later that night to compound the emotional distress he had caused, the Herald Sun reported.

He asked one of the victims if he could ‘f*** her’ and ‘give another kid’.

During sentencing Judge Michael McInerney said Zillner’s actions were ‘bizarre’, ‘outrageous’ and ‘heinous’.

A psychological report said his offending was a distorted attempt at making up for years of rejection and isolation,Perth Now reported.

The South Australian will be out of jail in three months after serving 14 months on remand

The court also heard that a doctor once described Zillner as a ‘resentful stalker’ who acts upon impulse after years of ‘isolation’ and ‘rejection’.

Zillner pleaded guilty in February to charges including three counts of recklessly causing injury, stalking and harass to cause offence.

Following his sentencing, the 37-year-old, who is autistic and suffers from Tourette’s Syndrome, told the court he is ‘sorry for what he’s done’.

He will be behind bars for another 90 days after already serving 14 months on remand.
