Married At First Sight’s Domenica Calarco reveals what the show’s participants REALLY get paid

Domenica Calarco has revealed what the participants on Married At First Sight get paid to appear on the hit Channel Nine reality show.

In a tell-all interview with The Kyle & Jackie O Show on Monday, the 28-year-old MAFS bride admitted their pay is ‘pretty much minimum wage’.

The makeup artist was discussing the psychological support the show offers its participants, raving about the services available, when she mentioned money.

‘I feel like the show does get a bad rap, and I’m not getting paid to say that. Because I didn’t get paid enough, to be honest, with what I went through…’ she said.

A curious Jackie ‘O’ Henderson then asked Domenica what the show’s participants are paid to appear on the show.

‘I think it’s pretty much minimum wage. Look, even [MAFS groom] Dion [Giannarelli] said there wasn’t even enough to cover his rent,’ added Domenica.

‘It’s enough to just cover your rent, your living expenses, kind of thing. Because when you’re living [on the show], all of that is taken care of.

‘You don’t have to pay for anything. It’s pretty much maybe like an average wage I would say.’

Domenica’s not the only participant to discuss the salaries on offer, with MAFS alum Nasser Sultan previously complaining about the pay.

'I think it's pretty much minimum wage. Look, even [MAFS groom] Dion [Giannarelli] said there wasn't even enough to cover his rent,' she said

‘You get $150 for the day, that’s it. But on top of that, you have to pay expenses – your living expenses with the woman that you marry,’ the 54-year-old told Now to Love.

‘It’s not $150 clear. You still have to pay rent if you’re renting, you’ve gotta pay your rego [car registration] and it’s 12-hour filming days.’

Explaining it’s a daily allowance, not a paycheck, Nasser added of the money given to the show’s participants: ‘That’s what you live on.’
