Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton has arm AMPUTATED at the scene of horrific car accident as he is left in critical condition

Miami Dolphins defensive tackle Kendrick Norton has been rushed to the hospital after having his left arm amputated at the scene of a horrific car accident in south Florida. 

Sources told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel that the former University of Miami star needed to have his arm amputated at the scene in order to remove him from the vehicle. Norton is in critical condition at a Miami-area trauma unit, but he injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The accident occurred Thursday morning and CBS Miami is reporting that video from Norton’s arrival at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center shows that he suffered a significant injury to his left arm.

One other person was hospitalized as well.

Police say one of the two cars involved in the accident rolled over, although it is not known if that was Norton’s vehicle.

Norton, 22, has yet to play a game for the Dolphins after spending most of last season on the Carolina Panthers’ practice squad. He was signed by the Dolphins in December when another former University of Miami star, running back Frank Gore, was placed on injured reserve. 

‘We were made aware this morning of a serious car accident involving Kendrick Norton,’ read a statement from a Dolphins spokesperson. Our thoughts and prayers are with Kendrick and his family during this time.’

Norton Sr., who passed away in 2013, famously fought Muhammad Ali three times, beating him once and breaking his jaw in the process. He retired with a 42-7-1 record before becoming an actor

He was drafted initially in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL Draft, but although he won All-ACC third team honors with the Hurricanes, Norton has yet to distinguish himself as a professional.

The 6foot3, 312-pound defensive lineman is from Jacksonville, where he was a four-star recruit at Trinity Christian Academy.
