My Kitchen Rules stars Carly and Tresne update followers on their healing journey two months after daughter Poppy Grace died at 20 months old

My Kitchen Rules stars Carly Saunders and Tresne Middleton sadly lost their baby daughter Poppy Grace at just 20 months old following a battle with leukemia.

And the couple have been documenting their healing journey on social media since she passed away in February.

They recently returned home to Australia after spending some time in Thailand, as they hoped the trip would help them cope with their grief.

Posting a video montage of their time in Thailand to Instagram on Thursday, the couple wrote: ‘Home again… it is time to face home again.

‘It’s beyond us that the whole time we were in hospital with Pops we just wanted to be home, and now we’ll do almost anything to avoid it.’

‘Our time in Thailand has helped to give us the tools we need to grow and live through this grief.’

Before Poppy passed, the mothers documented the realities of parenting a sick child on social media, and on Thursday they thanked their followers for their continuous support.

‘We want to thank you all for your beautiful words of love and support your kindness is like magic,’ they wrote.

On February 16, the former reality stars announced the heartbreaking news that Poppy had passed away.

They posted a photo of their child on their joint account, and wrote: ‘This morning we lost our precious baby Poppy Grace.

‘True to form she fought tooth and nail until her final breath. Her leukemia took over and at her last bloods the blasts were 787,000. That fighting spirit was so prominent right throughout her battle and it was so evident in the last four traumatic days.

‘Poppy showed us what it is to be grateful and happy with whatever cards you are dealt.

‘She made the most of her time on Earth, dancing, giggling and smiling right until days from the end. She was loving and funny and nurturing. She was clever and empathetic.

‘She had a heart of gold and she shone so brightly, oozing joy. We felt honoured to be her mums and we didn’t take a second of that for granted, not a second.

‘She taught us so very much in her short 20 months and we have never experienced a love as all encompassing.’

Donation bookings can be made on the Lifeblood website or by phoning 13 14 95.
