Liquid ice worth more than $1 million has been discovered by Australian Border Force officers in Sydney, concealed inside a delivery of snow globes from Canada.

Testing of liquid inside the 15 snow globes returned a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine.

ABF NSW regional commander Danielle Yannopoulos said the ABF has invested heavily in its technological capability and could see further into each package than ever before.

‘Our officers continue to prove, time and time again, that criminals who attempt to hide these substances in new and imaginative ways are wasting their time,’ Ms Yannopoulos said in a statement on Tuesday.

‘It doesn’t matter how clever you think your concealment is – we can find it.’
