Patrons riding on Movie World’s hypercoaster have been stranded for ten minutes on top of the attraction after a power outage.

The power outage is reportedly part of a larger blackout affecting the theme park and 462 homes in Helensvale, the Courier Mail writes.

A spokesperson for Movie World has said that the ride halted at around 3.20pm leaving theme park customers stuck at the top of the lift hill.

People were confirmed to be on the ride when it suddenly stopped but as the power returned the attraction finished its course.

Other rides were also affected but have since been rechecked by staff and are resuming as per normal.

Electricians were called to the scene but can’t see ‘any clear cut faults’ in the wires. They are asking for anyone with information to call 13 19 62.
