Jackie’s top household hacks

1. The hole in a slotted spoon measures one portion of pasta

2. Packing cubes dissolve in water

3. Most toilets have a release button so the lid and seat can be removed for cleaning

4. MacBook’s have a built in magnet that airtags stick on

5. The coloured tag on a loaf of bread indicates the day it was made

6. Ceiling fans have a Summer and Winter setting which changes the direction of the air flow

7. iPhones have a built in measuring application that allows you to measure distances as well as the dimensions of objects

Jackie’s first surprising hack is to use the hole in a slotted spoon to measure your pasta.

‘The hole in a slotted spoon is exactly one serve of spaghetti,’ she explained.

Her second tip was to pour your old packing cubes in the sink and soak them with water. They are made from cornstarch and are dissolvable so they will go down the drain.

She also shared the little known fact that most toilets have a release button so the lid and seat can be removed for ‘easy cleaning’.

Her fourth tip was that you can stick airtags to a MacBook as the PC has a built in magnet.

She also revealed that the coloured tag on a loaf of bread indicates the day it was made. For example, if the tag is red it was baked on Saturday.

Her sixth hack was the revelation that ceiling fans have a Summer and Winter setting which changes the direction of the air flow.

Jackies final tip was that iPhones have a built in measure app that allows you to measure distances as well as the dimensions of objects.

Her followers were shocked by the hacks, particularly the packing cubes, measuring applications and ceiling fan facts.

‘Absolute mind blown! Like what,’ one woman said.

‘The measure app has changed my life,’ another commented.

‘Mind blown over the fan feature,’ another said.

‘The bread thing! Are you kidding me,’ one shocked woman said.

‘Packing beans, just wow, had not heard that one. Can’t wait for my next delivery of something,’ another commented.
