My Kitchen Rules star Ash Pollard cried on live radio as she revealed her shock medical diagnosis on Monday.

The 34-year-old, who rose to fame on the 2015 season of My Kitchen Rules and now co-hosts a Hit Network radio program, told listeners she’d undergone tests to ensure her reproductive system ‘was A-OK’.

It turns out everything is not that great – which is frightening. It turns out I have polycystic ovarian syndrome,’ she said.

Ash revealed this meant she may have trouble starting a family and have to undergo IVF treatment to fall pregnant.

‘I got a bit upset… being 34 (I’ve) been committed to my career so it does make me sad as you get older… we’re on the clock,’ she said through tears.

Ash, who has been dating her boyfriend Pete Ferne, 35, since 2017, admitted she now feels forced to choose between her career or having a baby.

WHAT IS POLYCYSTIC OVARY SYNDROME?

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common condition that affects how a woman’s ovaries work which can lead to fertility issues.

The three main features of PCOS are:

Irregular periods – which means the ovaries don’t regularly release eggs (ovulation). This can affect a woman’s ability to get pregnant.

Excess androgen – high levels of ‘male hormones’ in the body, which may cause physical signs such as excess facial or body hair.

Polycystic ovaries – the ovaries become enlarged and contain many fluid-filled sacs (follicles) which surround the eggs and can stop thme from being released (it’s important to note that, despite the name, if you have PCOS you don’t actually have cysts).

‘All I want to do is keep going leaps and bounds in my career but now I’m like, what do I do? Do I think about my career or do I think about having a kid?’ she said.

The confession came after the former reality star delivered a eulogy for the show which launched her career after MKR: The Rivals was smashed in the ratings.

Speaking on her radio show at the start of the month, Ash admitted the Channel Seven program had given her a career, and deserved a ‘Eulogy’ after agreeing that it was, ‘the end of an era – allegedly’.

Ash, who has a show on 101.3FM on the Central Coast with Daniel Gawned, said at length: ‘We are gathered here today to celebrate the long and successful life of MKR. The show that has somehow managed to stay afloat among its competitors for nearly a decade.

‘The show that gave me a leg up into the entertainment industry, dubbing me socialite and villain. The show that divided the nation and in turn gave me everything,’ she continued.

‘According to Gawndy, without that show, I would be living on the Gold Coast with mum and dad and zero opportunity. How will the citizens of Australia cope with the end of what is one of the longest-running reality shows?’

Ash went on to thank the judges for teaching her cooking skills.

She then added: ‘Thank you for making it glaringly obvious how bats**t crazy the majority of people to compete on such a show. They are not normal.

‘You gave me life, an appreciation for cookery and media and I am eternally grateful to you. May you rest in peace and have no regrets about televising an all star series which inevitably probably led to your demise. Probably because I wasn’t on it.’
