Organised mum reveals her stunning pantry makeover

An Australian mother has revealed how she transformed her cluttered pantry into the organised space of her dreams by using items from Kmart, Target and Woolworths.

After becoming fed up with the ‘messy space’ the mum-of-four decided to give it a budget makeover before posting the before and after snaps on Facebook and Instagram.

‘Nearly everything is on a budget and is Kmart. The canisters, containers, trays, fruit bowl, boards, spice jars all Kmart. Everything was so cheap, I am so happy with the outcome,’ she wrote.

To make overhauling this space easier, the mum grouped foods together which allowed her to organise in sections.

Working from the ground up, she revealed how she tidied unsightly items by simply placing these in larger storage containers.

In addition to using storage with lids for keeping items out of sight, the woman used two seagrass baskets from Kmart, priced at $14, to hold various cleaning items.

To ensure the pantry is user-friendly, the mum has also made sure to include food on the first shelf that can be easily accessed by smaller members of the family.

Here, two plastic storage containers labelled ‘snacks’ do the trick.

An array of cereals that have also been decanted into canisters purchased from Woolworths for $10 each have also been placed on this shelf.

A second shelf contains a fruit basket, knife block and a functional display with oil and two types of vinegar in labelled glass bottles.

The bottles were purchased from Pretty Little Designs and are priced at $12.95 each and a utensil holder containing wooden spoons was bought from Target for $9.

This shelf also features a tiered rack for an array of spreads and microwave has also been placed here too.

Above this, dry foods have been placed into a range of storage containers. A six-piece set, in varying sizes, is available from Kmart for $12.

Herbs and spices have been deposited into labelled glass jars, available from Kmart. Next, to these, cooking oils and flavourings have been stored in bamboo baskets also from Kmart, priced at $7 each.

Lastly, the top shelf features items less commonly used. Foods that have been stored on this shelf include baking goods such as flour, sugar and cocoa.

A mixture of containers from Kmart and Target make this display both pleasing to the eye without being overly uniform.

Target storage containers are priced at $6 each.

The pantry is topped off with a black perpetual wall calendar from Siisti, priced at $119.95.

Since sharing photos of her pantry online, the mum has been flooded with praise from many delighted by her efforts.

As to be expected, a few were keen to know how the woman kept her space in such good shape considering she had four children.

To which she replied: ‘I have had it like this for a month now and it has stayed.’

Thrilled mothers who'd seen the woman's pantry overhaul were moved to ask if the savvy mum might also take on their kitchen cupboards

Others simply said they thought what she’d done was incredible and were keen to know if the mum might help them whip their pantries into shape.

‘One beautiful pantry wish mine was like it,’ said one.

Another said: I’m moving in November, the pantry is shaped like this, please come do mine. I just don’t wanna (sic) do it.’
