Osher Gunsberg reveals Channel Ten once held a crisis meeting after he got a haircut midway through The Masked Singer season

Osher Günsberg recently shocked fans when he debuted his new platinum blonde hair do.

And the 49-year-old has revealed how Channel Ten held a crisis meeting after he debuted his hair transformation midway through the Masked Singer season.

The Bachelor host told Yahoo Lifestyle on Wednesday he had changed his look for a project but the reaction to his new hair wasn’t what he expected.

‘No one gives if Abbie [Chatfield], Chrissie [Swan], or Mel [B] change their hair every single episode. I got a haircut halfway through the season and there was a meeting!’ Osher revealed.

He explained he had ‘changed it significantly because he was doing a new project around a fake news show.’

‘I needed to make sure visually that it was very different [for that show],’ he added.

‘I can’t show up to The Bachelors with Dr Emmett Scott [sic] hair because what happens is then I distract from the moment. On The Bachelor, it’s not about me at all.’

It comes after Osher revealed how The Bachelor saved him in many ways after being nominated for a Gold Logie this year.

Appearing on The Project, he said: ‘Before [The Bachelor], I had had no gig, because I was drinking and using and being a general reprobate. I got my s**t together and here we are.’

‘So to be here in this category. No-one can take that away’ he added.

As for whether or not he will win, Osher is happy to leave that decision to fate – and the people.

‘It reflects who you are to people. It’s not for any particular show that I’ve done. It’s what you mean to people. But I have no control over it. I have no control over the outcome of it,’ he said.

Osher has previously spoken about his past battle with alcoholism and mental health issues.

Despite being sober for over 10 years, he told Body + Soul recently that he still has to be ‘so careful’ every day.

‘I watch my input of what I look at, read and listen to, and also the people I spend time with. I have to be so careful with that,’ he said.

‘I know I’m an addict. I’m an alcoholic. I don’t have addictive things in my house.

‘I haven’t owned a gaming console since 2008, because I know that I’ll lose myself in one of those games,’ he added.

Instead, The Masked Singer host prioritises looking after his mental health, especially making sure he gets enough ‘sleep and exercise’.
