The victim of a horror car crash has been identified as a young film enthusiast with family saying they’re grateful she died with her boyfriend and twin sister at her side.

The devastated family of Erica Hoy, 26, said they will remember her as the ‘perfect daughter’ after she was killed in a collision on the Port River Expressway, Adelaide, just after 9pm on Tuesday.

It is alleged Erica – along with her boyfriend Mike Reader, 29, and twin Lisa Hoy – were struck in their red Toyota Prius by Carlie Eileen Richards, 38, and sent in front of a truck.

Erica died at the scene while Mr Reader and Lisa were seriously injured and rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital.

‘She was a bright, happy, positive young girl,’ her heartbroken father, Greg Hoy, told The Advertiser.

‘I’m glad she didn’t pass away alone.’

It is alleged Ms Richards attempted to flee the scene and was later arrested by police.

She appeared in court on Wednesday afternoon from her bed at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital after she was deemed mentally unfit to appear in person.

Mr Hoy said Erica had spent the day she died doing the thing she loved most, acting.

The proud father said his daughter was a top student in school but acting was her passion.

She even starred as the lead in her school musical, Alice in Wonderland.
