The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart said the spring season has proven to be a winning season for many Powerball players, as opposed to other times of the year.

Within the past five years spring has seen 25 Powerball division one winners with the next highest season being winter which saw 23 people score the jackpot.

‘The spring of 2021 has been no exception as we’ve already had three Powerball division one winners scoring more than $90.4 million. Who knows, we might add to this tally this week,’ he said.

‘Helping to bolster spring’s reputation is the fact we’ve seen the Powerball jackpot climb to some lofty heights during previous Septembers, Octobers and Novembers.

‘For example, Australia’s biggest ever lottery jackpot of $150 million took place in September 2019.’

Thirteen lucky Australians have collected a total of $470million in prize money this year.

Thursday night’s $60million Powerball will be drawn at 9.30pm AEDT and 6.30pm WST.
