Princess Beatrice calls Ellie Goulding her ‘dearest friend’ in heart-warming response to text prank
She was left feeling nervous after she gave up her phone for the Send To All prank on Michael McIntyre’s Big Show.
Yet Ellie Goulding had no reason to be feeling anxious as she received a flurry of supportive texts from her contacts on the BBC show, including a sweet note from Princess Beatrice.
The pop star, 32, had given up her phone to the comedian, 43, in a segment which saw him compose a message and send it out to all of her contacts on behalf of Ellie.

He wrote: ‘This might sound a bit weird but I’m writing a song all about you. I’d love some help with the lyrics.
‘What do you remember about that unforgettable moment? And if you can make it rhyme even better. Hurry! I’m in the studio right now and my creative juices are flowing lol x (sic)’
Ellie received a number of replies including one from her husband Caspar Jopling’s father Nicholas Jopling and singer James Blunt but she also received one from royal family member Princess Beatrice.
The poem read: ‘My dearest friend I love so dearly. I feel so lucky, I adore this girl so clearly.
‘From wedding chats to Saturday evening, I adore this lady with every feeling. There truly isn’t a time that our friendship could equal a rhyme.’
Ellie has been good friends with Princess Beatrice and her sister Eugenie for years, with the singer even holidaying with Beatrice in Jordan in 2017.

Ellie and Caspar are said to have joined forces with Eugenie and Jack on a number of double dates.
The Starry Eyed singer and her beau attended the princess’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank in October last year.
Ellie returned the favour by inviting the princesses, and their mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, to her nuptials with Caspar Jopling at the York Minster Cathedral in August.
