Princess Mary of Denmark recently returned home to Australia with her husband Prince Frederik of Denmark, and their children for the first time in five years.

And on Monday, the royal – formerly known as Mary Donaldson – attended an NBL match in her hometown Hobart.

The 50-year-old wore a Tasmania Jackjumpers scarf around her neck as she cheered on the team during the game.

Mary also wore a white jacket and black pants as she stood in the grandstands.

The stylish royal had her hair out for the occasion, and appeared to have on minimal makeup.

She was also joined by her husband Prince Frederik at the game.

It was first announced in February that Princess Mary was set to return to Australia to spend Christmas with her family.

The Hobart-born royal spent the holidays with her Tasmanian family, the Danish royal household confirmed.

Mary’s visit this time is a private trip, meaning she is not Down Under in any official capacity.

Her last time travelling to her home country in an official capacity was in 2013.

Since marrying her prince in 2004 she’s known to have come back to Australia at least nine times – with four being official visits.

Before the pandemic, the family would make a visit back at least every one or two years, but this slowed after 2017.

In March 2021, the royal made a secret trip without her husband or children for her 50th birthday.
