Baltimore Ravens running back Keaton Mitchell was forced off late on in their win over the Jacksonville Jaguars after suffering a gruesome knee injury.

Following a 13-yard run in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game, Mitchell lost his footing when Jaguars safety Andrew Wingard lunged in with a late diving tackle.

The 21-year-old’s leg appeared to bend nastily after the challenge, before he was carried off the field by Ravens medical staff and carted to the locker room.

Despite the severity of his injury, Mitchell gave a thumbs up as he left the game.

Before limping out at TIAA Bank Field he had nine carries for 73 yards after catching both of his targets for 15 yards.
