Real Housewives of Sydney star  Caroline Gaultier breaks down as she receives devastating family news

A Real Housewives of Sydney star has received tragic news about her mother.

Caroline Gaultier opened up about her mum’s cancer diagnosis on this week’s episode of the hit reality television show.

In the episode, Caroline is at a wellness party on a luxury yacht cruising Sydney Harbour when she receives the ‘hardest phone call of her life’ and begins to weep.

The heart-wrenching news she received was that her mother had been rushed to the hospital diagnosed with stomach cancer, visibly leaving Caroline devastated.

Fortunately, the boat returns to shore early, allowing Caroline to swiftly reach her mum’s side.

While they waited, the group reflected on the impact of cancer, recounting experiences of losing parents and loved ones, with Sally Obermeder sharing her own story of surviving cancer.

It comes as last month Caroline pleaded with young people to hold off on getting plastic and cosmetic surgery.

The Sydney party girl said she thinks no one should go under the knife until they’ve achieved a sense of ‘inner peace and self-acceptance’.

Mother of two Caroline has been candid about the various procedures she has undergone over the years, including a breast augmentation.

Despite her own experiences, she emphasises the need to approach such decisions thoughtfully as they can have lifelong and ‘dangerous’ implications.

‘I just think you need to actually establish your self esteem and then you can move forward… I also think that plastic surgery is for when you get a bit older and you’re trying to swing backwards,’ Gaultier told The Daily Telegraph.

‘Young girls are injecting fillers into their face and it doesn’t disappear, it just absorbs into your tissue and as you get older it wears your tissue down and ages you a lot faster than you would normally,’ Gaultier warned.

Prior to starring on the Real Housewives of Sydney, Caroline was known as one of Sydney’s most stylish party girls.

She previously lived in Prague and Tokyo, but now calls Bondi Beach home.
