Flynn Prevost, 60, was found guilty of stabbing a motorist and jailed for for 21 years, with a minimum jail term of 16 years

A thug who ruthlessly stabbed another motorist 15 times and left him for dead at the roadside has been jailed for 16 years today.

Flynn Prevost, 60, was driving along a road in Epping, Essex, on September 22 last year, when his victim sounded his horn at him.

Prevost got out of his car armed with a knife and confronted the 37-year-old driver before stabbing him in the face, neck, head and back, Chelmsford Crown Court heard last week.

Prevost then calmly got back into his car and sped off, leaving his victim fighting for his life.

The victim was taken to hospital, but suffered life-changing injuries, the court heard.

Prevost was found guilty of attempted murder earlier this month and jailed for 21 years, with a minimum jail term of 16 years, and another five years extension on license.

The jury found him guilty after a nine-day trial.

Detective Constable Stephen Baker said: ‘This was a brutal attack on a man whose life has significantly changed as a result of a stranger’s shocking actions.

‘Flynn Prevost is a violent individual whose unwarranted, excessive and disproportionate attack left the victim fearing for his life simply because Prevost took umbrage to the victim sounding his car horn in response to his dangerous and aggressive driving.

‘Whilst this can’t change the mental or physical trauma the victim has to endure every day following the attack, I hope this sentence brings some sense of justice to him with the knowledge that this violent individual has been jailed for his appalling actions.’
