An Australian man who is the spitting image of Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds has revealed the surprising way his movie star looks helped him purchase a property.
Brisbane influencer Shaun Birley, 35, said he was able to purchase a $1.34milllion Queensland property after securing several endorsements due to his resemblance to the Hollywood star, 47.
‘I wish I could say he could potentially be my half brother but no. The funny thing is I just don’t see it and it comes up every day from people,’ he told Realestate.com.au.
His resemblance to the Marvel favourite is so uncanny he was once approached by producers who asked him to appear as Reynolds’ body double in a commercial.
‘Unfortunately, we had a clashing of schedules, I missed out on an ad with Ryan in Abu Dhabi. The producers said they’ll keep me in mind for future work which is cool.’

Birley put the money from his influencer endorsements to good use, and in 2022 bought into a luxury apartment project, in which he snapped up a three bedroom, two bathroom apartment for $1.34million.
‘Those guys do an amazing job. It’s gone up quite a bit and been revalued at $1.7million. That was completed late last year, it’s an investment.’
Meanwhile, Reynolds kept himself busy last year filming Deadpool 3 in England alongside his best mate Hugh Jackman.

Jackman appears to have surrounded himself with close friends as he moves on from his wife of 27 years Deborra-Lee Furness.
As he navigates the divorce process, the Hollywood star, 55, has been spending quite a bit of time with close friend Ryan.
In October, he shared a picture of the two to his Instagram Stories, the Wolverine star drew a love heart around the actor’s face.

A few weeks prior to that, the duo also caught up to attend a New York Jets game at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
They joined Taylor Swift as they prepared to watch the pop star’s new love, Travis Kelce, with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Reynolds plays the anti-hero title character in the Deadpool series, while Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine from the X-Men movies.
Deadpool 3 is due in cinemas November 2024.
