Sam Wood’s top tips for getting back into shape

He recently celebrated his first Christmas with newborn daughter Willow.

But Sam Wood is still not slacking on his exercise routine – and now he’s sharing his best tips for festive fitness.

On Friday, the former Bachelor star offered Popsugar Australia his advice for getting back into shape post-holiday.

Instead of counting calories, the 28 by Sam Wood founder suggests instead determining the nutritional value of the food.

Also, being accountable for your own lifestyle and health is very important.

‘People who continually blame other people or things in their life, and never accept responsibility, inevitably never get results,’ he said.

In terms of where you choose to exercise on a daily basis, Sam reasons it should be something we mix up.

‘You need to train efficiently and do something different every day,’ he explained.

‘Doing the same thing every day and expecting a different result is madness.’

So if you’ve been doing Pilates for a while, it may help to turn to something more cardio-based or implement weights training.

‘The hardest part is starting, but how many times have you said, “This month or this year will be different?” You need to pull your finger out and get it done,’ Sam said.

Sam Wood and his fiancée Snezana Markoski have just welcomed a daughter, Willow. Snezana also has a 12-year-old daughter, Eve, from a previous relationship.

The family spent their Christmas at the Crown hotel in Melbourne.
