But now Gwyneth Paltrow, the creator of lifestyle brand Goop, is helping fans in the ‘pursuit of pleasure’.

The US actress-turned-wellness guru has launched an Instagram account dedicated to sex.

The platform, which currently attracts 6,900 followers, offers the chance to learn about everything from sex toys to how to reignite intimacy in a relationship.

Titled ‘Goopsex’, the social media channel is aimed at ‘those of us who want to further our education’ on sexuality.

Announcing its launch, Ms Paltrow, 50, said: ‘Something we believe in at Goop is that true fulfilment comes from really knowing yourself and feeling comfortable enough to show up in the world and in your relationships as your whole self. An important pillar of this is how we feel about our sexuality.’ She added that Goopsex was ‘a place for the pursuit of pleasure, where you can stay up to date on our latest content covering sex, intimacy and relationships’.

Clearly keen to take heed of her own advice, Paltrow finished by saying: ‘I’ll meet you there.’

The first post on the account shows two women with their legs entwined and offers a link to ‘a guide based on what kind of stimulation you’re looking for’ when it comes to toys in the bedroom.

There are also posts on how to ‘self-pleasure’ during times of ‘overwhelming stress’ and how dirty talk can make you a ‘more confident sexual communicator’.

The Iron Man star, who launched Goop as a newsletter in 2008, is no stranger to talking about sex. In 2021, she fronted a Netflix show, Sex, Love and Goop, which saw the actress helping couples who wanted to spice up their sex lives and achieve more intimacy.

While promoting the show, Ms Paltrow told Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk that she was enjoying some of the best sex of her life, adding: ‘But I’m a newlywed, so it’s like I’m cheating maybe a little bit.’

Ms Paltrow married television producer Brad Falchuk in 2018 after splitting from Coldplay singer Chris Martin with whom she has two children.

Goop, which has an estimated value of £200million, sells sex paraphernalia on its online shop, with the most expensive being the £1,000 Gold Wand – ‘the Cadillac of sex toys’.
