Shoppers label huge Melbourne Chemist Warehouse as a ‘pharmacy for the rich’

A shopper has been left gobsmacked after stumbling across what she described as the ‘best’ Chemist Warehouse store in Australia.

Meaghan, who runs the page ‘The Organised Hustler’, visited the store in Chadstone, Victoria and wasn’t expecting to find huge aisles, lush displays and freestanding perfumes that weren’t barred behind glass cabinets.

The 30-year-old shared a now-viral TikTok video of inside the store which many quickly dubbed as ‘beautiful’ – comparing it to the premium displays at Myer or Sephora.  

‘This is by far the best Chemist Warehouse I have ever seen!’ Meaghan captioned the video.  

Chemist Warehouse pharmacy locations are often small with tight aisles and limited stock, but the Chadstone store, which is a 30-minute drive east from the Melbourne CBD, seems to be the complete opposite.  

‘I think I’ve just found the ultimate Chemist Warehouse – look how much room is in between the aisles,’ she said in the short clip. 

‘The CeraVe is fully stocked, the perfume isn’t behind locked counters and you can smell it all.’

‘There is so much room,’ she continued and panned the camera across the store floor. 

The video has since racked up a staggering 688,000 views and the store was labelled as ‘so fancy’ and ‘rich’ compared to others across the country. 

‘The perfume section looks like a Sephora or Myer,’ one person commented.

‘Must be a newest store, I’ve never seen one this clean and stocked!’ another added.

‘Priceline across Myer in Bourke Street is also boujee, like they have two floors and not a lot of people go there, it’s literally a gem,’ a third wrote.

Another said: ‘What an upgrade from what I’m used to.’ 

In the comments a former Chemist Warehouse worker revealed why the perfume at most store locations is behind locked cabinets. 

‘I worked at Chemist Warehouse and half the time our perfumes were locked away was because multiple people would steal! So keep that in mind,’ she wrote.
