Stranger Things premiere inspires man to do Eleven cosplay

The impending debut of Stranger Things season two has worked fans of the series into a frenzy – but while many have chosen to share their enthusiasm on social media, one dedicated lover of the show opted to express his excitement in a much more unique way.

Known only by his Imgur name, CooterMcDoogletron, the man celebrated the new season of the show by cosplaying as central character Eleven, dressing up in the young girl’s pink dress-and-blue jacket ensemble to pose for a series of sassy images that have quickly taken the internet by storm.

Despite bearing no obvious resemblance to the sci-fi star – who is portrayed by British actress Millie Bobby Brown – the man didn’t let anything get in the way of his portrayal of the character, using a series of props, poses, and a seriously sassy attitude to channel Eleven.

In one photo, for example, he is pictured riding his bike down the street and in another, holding a box of Eggos, which fans of the show instantly know were Eleven’s favorite.

And the fact that CooterMcDoogletron doesn’t exactly resemble Eleven, fans found his efforts all the more hilarious and creative, and took to the comments section of his Imgur post to express their approval of the photo shoot.

One user wrote: ‘That demogorgan is in serious trouble in season two,’ making a reference to the fact that the man is much taller than 13-year-old Millie and would therefore likely pose a much greater threat to the monstrous alien from season one of the show.

Another comment read: ‘I’d love it if they replaced her with him and no one mentioned anything about it, they just went on with it.’

And those most dedicated of Stranger Things fans seized the opportunity to show off their extensive knowledge of the show in a series of hilarious comments.

One user said: ‘The upside-down can do strange things to people,’ alluding to the alternative reality where the devilish demogorgan resided.

Another added that the man’s large physique might help him to fight off any evil villains, without the help of any other powers or skills possessed by Eleven in the first series.

‘He don’t need no telekinesis to throw you across the room,’ the user joked.

Others simply couldn’t help but hail CooterMcDoogletron as a true hero, much like the character he was emulating.

One comment said: ‘The hero that the internet needs and another supported the notion with a comment that read: ‘Heroes: firefighters, law enforcement, soldiers, paramedics, mothers who pickup cars to save their kids, this guy.’

It would appear that the cosplay was in fact a hit among the internet who is just as excited as this guy for the premiere on October 27.

An alternative to the outrage that ensued when Yandy, an online retailer, decided to sell the Upside Down Honey Costume – an ensemble based on the character Eleven.

Shoppers took to social media to voice their disgust over the costume that is worn by a young girl, made to appear sexy.

But this time, fans don’t have to worry about that as this costume adaption was done out of good fun and closely resembled that of the actual Stranger Things character – minus a few indistinguishable traits.
