Stranger Things star Allyssa Brooke’s son, 16, is viciously attacked playing basketball, jaw broken

Stranger Things star Allyssa Brooke’s 16-year-old son was viciously attacked while playing basketball which resulted in a broken jaw while other players on the court laughed and applauded during the brutal assault.

The actress and her husband Robbie Cox are pushing for change after their son Nick was beaten at a local Atlanta, Georgia recreation center in what should have been a friendly game of basketball.

Other kids who were in attendance at the gym filmed the assaulted and posted it online as the attack resulted in Nick’s jaw being broken in three places, a severe concussion, whiplash, and doctors even had to check for internal bleeding.

In the video obtained by local Atlanta station 11Alive, the teenager could be seen driving the lane when his defender did not actually make a play on the ball and forcefully shoved him to the ground.

Nick got up to confront the defender with his fists up as another player blindsided and sucker punched him which put him on the ground as others joined in on the beating.

In one of the social media clips, other kids could be heard laughing and applauding  as the teenager was being assaulted.

Allyssa was not pleased by the response by the bystanders at the rec center as she told 11Alive: ‘They didn’t stop it; they applauded it. And to me, that’s participation. 

‘I don’t expect everybody to be a hero and run in to save the day if that’s not your style. But to laugh and applaud, and cheer, that’s not humanity’

The teenager who is accused of breaking Nick’s jaw has been charged with assault as a juvenile but Allyssa and family are not happy with the others who were involved getting away without punishment.

As a result they have started a Change.org petition with intention of creating a code of ethics for students attending public schools.

The petition already has over 9,300 signatures as she wrote: ‘I hereby call on the Department of Education to immediately and without hesitation enact an Ethical Code of Conduct for all high school students attending publicly-funded schools. 

‘At the very minimum, violations of said Code of Conduct, whether on school property or not, should result in the immediate termination of participation in extracurricular activities for a length of time determined appropriate by an unbiased school board.

‘We cannot, in good conscience, continue to turn our backs on instances of bullying, violence and hate. To stay silent is complicit to condoning aggression in our schools.’
