Tamron Hall admits she CRIED when she found out she was having a baby boy

Tamron Hall has revealed she cried when she found out she was having a baby boy because she imagined herself having a little girl to dress up like herself.

The talk show host, who shares a two-year-old son Moses with her husband Steve Green, opened up about her IVF journey on this week’s episode of People’s new podcast ‘Me Becoming Mom.’

Hall, 51, explained that she opted not to find out the sex when she had her embryo transfer, but she later changed her mind.

‘And then whatever week it was that I couldn’t take it anymore, I asked the doctor, and my husband said, “We have to be on the phone, we have to hear at the same time,”‘ she recalled.

The journalist admitted she had a visceral reaction when the doctor told her she was having a baby boy.

‘I started crying because I saw all of my fashion future float [away]. That sounds so vain, but it’s true. And my husband said, “I will one day tell Moses that you did that.” I’m like, “No, it’s just tears! I visualize myself walking around with a little girl dressed exactly like me!”‘

‘Which is so funny now that I have a son,’ she added, ‘and I don’t like to get into gender labels — but it’s funny now that I have a son, I could not imagine anything other than what I have.’

Hall agreed that she was meant to be a ‘boy mom’ — ‘or at least this boy’s mom.’

The former Today show host was 47 when she became pregnant with Moses after years of struggling with infertility. She had tried her first round of fertility treatments when she was in her 30s, but they had failed.

She waited until she was 32 weeks pregnant before she revealed she was expecting her first child. Hall said she made the announcement on social media after learning a tabloid was about to report on her pregnancy.

Hall shocked her fans when she shared on March 4, 2019, that she was not only pregnant, but she had also quietly wed Steven. However, she insisted it wasn’t a secret.

‘It was something I was keeping private for my own mental health, for my husband’s mental health, and I needed to get through as much of the journey as possible, as healthy as possible, without outside influences,’ she explained. ‘

‘And so that wasn’t a secret because there were people who knew.’

Hall and Green welcomed their son Moses on April 24, 2019.

She opened up about her pregnancy a month after she gave birth, telling People that she had suffered from several ‘medical factors’ that put her and her child at ‘high risk.’

The journalist said she chose to keep the baby news quiet for most of her pregnancy because she was scared she would lose her unborn child.

‘I was terrified I would lose this baby and I would have to go back and tell everyone that now it was bad news, and after this pregnancy had gone so far,’ she said. ‘I was high-risk, not just because of my age, but there were other medical factors too.’
