A judge has denied Tekashi 6ix9ine’s request to serve the rest of his two-year prison sentence at home after the rapper argued he was a target inside because he turned on fellow gang members as part of a plea deal.
The 23-year-old is locked up at a secret facility but his lawyer argued he should at least be moved to a community correctional facility on the basis that he’s not eligible to get credit for good behavior or access to programs other prisons provide.
On Tuesday, the rapper’s girlfriend was fuming after Judge Paul A. Engelmayer turned down the request. He said it it would undermine his decision based on the deal to help convict Bloods members Aljermiah Mack and Anthony Ellison.
The judge said the sentence was meant to ‘reflect the seriousness of his crimes’ and that he was ‘mindful’ of the details mentioned in the argument when his fate was announced less than a month ago.

After the announcement, the Fefe artist’s girlfriend took to social media where she ranted it wasn’t fair and told followers her partner is doomed.
‘They kidnapped you, they had sex with the mother of your child, they get caught on the phone trying to kill you & their stealing millions of dollars from you,’ Jade, whose real name is Rachel Wattley, wrote in a caption of photo she posted of the pair together.
‘If you snitch, for the rest of your life people are gonna try to kill you for being a rat but if you don’t snitch, you’re doing 47 years in prison where they’re gonna kill you anyway because they were already talking about it.’
Tekashi, whose real name is Daniel Hernandez, hails from Bushwick in Brooklyn. His attorney Lance Lazzaro said in legal documents that the Nine Trey Gangster Bloods street gang has a presence at his private jail.
Tekashi has already served about 14 months of his two-year sentence.
Before cooperating with prosecutors and supplying ample information, he faced a minimum of 37 years in prison.
But his girlfriend complained about the length of time Tekashi must serve behind bars and compared the case to Salvatore Gravano, who helped bring down Gambino crime family boss John Gotti in a deal where he admitted to involvement in 19 murders.

The rapper is slated to be released from prison later this year
Judge Engelmayer had chastised the rapper for deploying a gang as his ‘personal hit squad’.
‘Your cooperation was impressive,’ he said, according to the AP. ‘It was game-changing. It was complete and it was brave.’
In a letter he read in court, the rapper said, ‘I made a lot of bad choices in life, but that does not make me a bad person.’
In testimony he delivered last fall, Tekashi 6ix9ine said that he owed his career to his gang affiliation.
‘I got the street credibility. The videos, the music, the protection – all of the above,’ he told the jury in the case. He said that his contribution was to ‘just keep making hits and be the financial support for the gang … so they could buy guns and stuff like that.’
Tekashi 6ix9ine’s help in convicting gang members was ‘not only substantial, it was extraordinary,’ Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael Longyear told the Associated Press. ‘He was truthful. He was forthcoming. He was an open book.’
Longyear noted that Tekashi 6ix9ine’s testimony helped authorities identify and convict other gang members, putting his life in danger amid potential retribution.
‘Forever, in the government’s view, he will have to look over his shoulder,’ Longyear said.
