Terrified bull tries to jump through window to escape Spanish bull-running festival

This is the terrifying moment a bull tries to clamber through an open window into a house during a bull-running event in northern Spain. 

Footage filmed in the town of Milagro during the Saint Blaise festival shows the bull, named ‘Fugitivo’ (Fugitive), running down a street. 

At the end of the street he becomes confused and can’t see a way out. 

Fugitivo then sees an open window where two locals are filming the commotion and in a desperate attempt to escape, rears himself up on to his hind legs and tries to squeeze himself through. 

Frightened shouts and jeers can be heard from the crowd while the two people filming from the open window scramble out of the way as quickly as possible. 

The bull carries on trying to force himself through the window before a worker comes behind him and starts pulling at his tail. 

Once the bull is distracted he hops back down from the window and begins to walk around the street again to find a way out.

Concerned crowd members can be heard shouting ‘do not call him’ and ‘do not hit him’ so as not to further aggravate the spooked animal. 

At the end of the footage another worker is seen using a jacket in the same way a matador uses a cape to attract the bull to it.

Finally the bull is directed back on to the right course and runs off into the distance.
