The Block stars furious about their ‘devastating’ on-screen edits as insider reveals ‘all out war is brewing’ between contestants

Viewers have branded this season of The Block as ‘toxic’ and ‘disturbing’ thanks to the constant squabbles and bullying among the Blockheads.

And contestants have now become upset with the way they’ve been portrayed on the show, new reports claim.

Speaking to Yahoo! Lifestyle, an insider said several stars have been left ‘devastated’ by their on-screen edit, adding: ‘The tension which keeps building as the series goes on has also shocked the contestants.’

‘What happened during filming isn’t matching most of the contestants’ ideas on who would be popular with viewers. I’d say it is almost in reverse,’ they added.

The source warned that ‘all out war is brewing’ between the contestants, many of whom were apparently cast specifically to cause drama.

It comes after an angry viewer penned a lengthy essay slamming The Block as ‘toxic’ due to the constant arguments between contestants.

Long-time viewer Evie Farrell said she wouldn’t let her young daughter watch the program and had turned off the ratings juggernaut because it features ‘more bullying than building’.

Farrell called out the show’s ‘negativity, drama and scandal’, zeroing in on the feud brewing between couple Steph and Gian and the other contestants.

She said Blockheads Leah and Ash and Kristy and Brett are ‘targeting’ Step especially, who appears, she says, to be emotionally vulnerable.

It’s beyond me why The Block is promoting a toxic and disturbing bullying narrative as the main storyline for this season,’ Farrell wrote in an article penned for Mamamia.

She said it would be better to show ‘positive role models the whole family can watch and support together.’

Farrell insisted that fans actually want to see ‘likeable couples’ who create beautiful rooms and homes.
