Thrill seeker falls ill on Alton Towers Th13teen ride

A ride at Alton Towers has been closed after a guest became ‘unwell’ and had to be treated by paramedics.

The themepark bosses shut the Th13teen rollercoaster as an air ambulance was called to ‘provide medical assistance to a guest that had fallen ill.’

The helicopter landed on the front lawn outside the Staffordshire attraction to treat the guest. Their condition is not known.

In a statement posted on Twitter, Alton Towers said ‘The air ambulance was called to provide medical assistance to a guest who had fallen ill during their visit.

‘We would like to reassure our guests that this was unrelated to any of our rides or attractions.’

The rollercoaster, called Th13teen, is currently closed after a guest became ‘unwell’

She wrote: ‘Air ambulance and fore services at altontowers and thirteen has been shut off completely. hope everything is ok and everyone is safe.’ 

Fire brigade units have also been spotted at the park. Guests have been told to stay away from the grass area while the person is being treated. 

The rest of the park is open as normal.

The amusement park is operated by Merlin and includes a theme park, water park, spa, mini golf and hotel complex.

The park features a range of attractions, including Congo River Rapids, Runaway Mine Train, Nemesis, Oblivion, Galactica, The Smiler, and Wicker Man.
