TikTok star and model engaged to actor Hugh Sheridan before dramatic break-up is charged with a violent crime after weekend drama

A model and TikTok star once engaged to actor Hugh Sheridan before he dramatically broke off their romance has been charged with a violent crime.

Kurt Ackerman, 31, was charged with recklessly wounding another man in a brief court hearing at Sydney’s Downing Centre on Wednesday. 

Mr Ackerman, who regularly shares videos of himself dancing shirtless online, looked very different from the image he presents on his social media under the name of Kurt Roberts.

He appeared in a dowdy grey suit and scuffed boots – a far cry from his glamorous modelling shots.

Court documents exclusively seen by Daily Mail Australia allege that Mr Ackermann recklessly wounded another man, Joshua Jimenez, in a domestic violence-related incident between midnight and 1am last Saturday.

Mr Ackerman made headlines in January 2021 when pictures surfaced of him passionately kissing the Logie Award-winning actor in the surf at Bondi.

Sheridan, who starred in Packed to the Rafters, House Husbands and The Masked Singer Australia, later revealed he had introduced Kurt to his family and they were living together in his Bondi home.

After just three months of dating, the couple announced they intended to marry and Sheridan went public on Instagram with his status as non-binary and bisexual.

But after an eight month engagement, Sheridan made a shock announcement in November 2021 that the couple had split.

Less than 24 hours later, Kurt Roberts celebrated his 30th birthday, documenting the festivities in animated photos and clips on Instagram.

Following the end of his engagement to Hugh Sheridan, Mr Ackermann moved out of the actor’s Bondi home and now lives in the inner city Sydney suburb of Potts Point, where the alleged wounding charge took place. 

Kings Cross detectives arrested and charged him on Saturday afternoon and have taken out an Apprehended Violence Order against Mr Ackerman on Mr Jimenez’s behalf.

He was granted bail and a lawyer applied to Magistrate Megan Greenwood for a week’s adjournment on the charge, which carries a maximum penalty of seven years imprisonment.
