Travis Kelce left red-faced by ‘hideous’ NFL rookie card that shows Chiefs star posing with his mouth open at the 2013 combine: ‘If anybody asks me to sign that I will set it in flames’

Travis Kelce was left slightly red-faced on the latest episode of New Heights after a fan sent in a picture of his ‘hideous’ NFL rookie trading card.

During his illustrious career, Kelce has won two Super Bowls and sits fourth on the list of all-time receiving yards by tight ends in the NFL.

But even the greats can’t escape their past and Kelce was forced to see his ‘disgusting’ rookie card once again on this week’s show.

The picture, which he says is from the NFL Draft combine in 2013, shows a fresh-faced Kelce as he tried to impress scouts and land a spot on a team’s roster.

In the snap Kelce – who has slicked back hair – is open mouthed and trying to catch a ball.

In the fan mentions of the week section of their hit podcast, one fan sent in the picture – which did not go down well with Taylor Swift’s boyfriend.

Brother Jason introduced it and said: ‘Since the boys talked about cards on the latest podcast, I figured I’d show my rookie card of Travis I got signed at training camp a few years ago.’

He asked: ‘How did this end up being your rookie card?’

A clear unhappy Travis replied: ‘I f***ing hate that card. That card is disgusting dude.

‘Why would they pick that picture for my rookie card? Like, what the f***. Who chooses that s***?’

Confused, Jason says: ‘I thought rookie cards had pictures of the guys actually playing in games.’

Travis continues: ‘I did this at the NFL Draft combine. That was the only time I ever wore a shirt from Under Armor. I’m a Nike athlete.

‘The photographer could have told me to shut my f***ing mouth. I look like an a**hole. This is uncalled for, man.

‘Yeah, no, that card is pretty bad. Anybody ever asks me to sign that card again I will set it in flames right there in front of you. That card is terrible.’

Discussing how much it would sell for in the future, Jason adds it will be the ‘highest dollar item for Travis Kelce memorabilia one day.’

Although he may hate it, the Travis Kelce in that picture would be delighted with the career he has forged for himself in the NFL.

The 34-year-old will once again be playing in the NFL playoffs this season after the Chiefs won yet another AFC West title.

Kelce and the Chiefs take on the dangerous Miami Dolphins on Saturday night and will welcome former star receiver Tyreek Hill back to Arrowhead Stadium.

He should be fresh and ready to go, too, having sat out of last week’s Chiefs win over the Los Angeles Chargers.

When asked why he was absent at SoFi Stadium, Kelce jokingly blamed fearsome Chargers safety Derwin James, who famously slammed him into the Arrowhead turf last season.

‘I mean is it not obvious?’ Travis began. ‘You think I was trying to go out there and get f***ing power bombed by Derwin James again? F*** that? You kidding me? That was a bone-rattling hit, man. I’m trying to keep the blood flow going in this thing.’
