Trump supporter hosts a ‘March for Men’ in Melbourne

Hundreds of supporters attended a ‘March for Men’ protest and two males were arrested during the anti-feminist demonstration. 

On Saturday crowds of men, women and children came together in Melbourne to protest against misandry. 

The rally which was organised by journalism graduate, Sydney Watson, took place at Federation Square in the city’s CBD.

Two men were arrested at the controversial protest after their message attracted counter protesters from the Campaign Against Facism and Racism activist group. 

Victoria Police confirmed two men, aged 25 and 33, were arrested for wilful damage and riotous behaviour.  

Ms Watson, who is an anti-feminist and Trump supporter hosted a ‘March from Men’ to combat ‘a collective assault’ on males.

Ms Watson created the march because of the way ‘media, politicians and talking-heads have spoken about men in this country’. 

The men’s rights advocate said: ‘Respect is a two way street. The narrative needs to change. All I have ever advocated is treating each other better.’ 

Ms Watson began a GoFundMe page to fund the protest which had a target of $5,000.

In under a month, the half-American political commentator raised $5,660 – with the excess donated to male focused charities.

‘Despite the fact I’m Conservative, I don’t care what side of the political spectrum you’re on.

‘I don’t care if you’re left wing, right wing, everyone can come along because ultimately male issues and female issues don’t just affect the left and right, they affect everyone,’ she said to her YouTube followers.

The highly-controversial protest sparked fury from different facets of the community as it kicked off just after 1pm.  

Victoria Police came out in full-force for the protest and warned they would conduct weapon checks.

‘We are equipped and well-prepared to deploy resources, respond and intervene where required.

‘Victoria Police will not tolerate those who break the law or engage in anti-social behaviour.’
