The wait is almost over as Justin Gaethje gets his opportunity to end Khabib Nurmagomedov’s undefeated fight record and claim the lightweight championship belt at UFC 254 in Abu Dhabi.
This will be the first time Khabib hasn’t be cornered by his father Abdulmanap Nurmagomeodv, who passed away in July as the Dagestan fighter looks to reach his father’s goal of 30-0 before potentially retiring.
His American opponent Gaethje will be hoping to avoid being taken down having only spent just 17 seconds on his back when he meets the Russian fighter who has a 50% takedown success rate.
