  • He underwent a testicular ultrasound and a precautionary CT scan of his head
  • The fight between Aoriqileng and Daniel Marcos was called a no-contest

UFC fighter Qileng Aoriqileng was rushed to hospital after receiving a devastating low blow from Daniel Marcos during their clash in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The Chinese fighter, who was fighting on the undercard of Jack Hermansson vs Joe Pyfer, was taken to the emergency room immediately after the bout.

Aoriqileng underwent a testicular ultrasound and a precautionary CT scan of his head and face after the fight – which was deemed a no-contest.

Thankfully, Aoriqileng’s manager – Wang Le – confirmed the Chinese fighter was okay but revealed ‘the tubes around his testicles were swollen’.

Aoriqileng’s manager told MMA Mania: ‘He is okay. The structure of his testicles is okay, but the tubes around his testicles are swollen.’

The fight on Saturday night saw four illegal moves made – with three low blows and an eye poke forcing referee Jason Herzog to call the bout off.

Aoriqileng had tried to carry on after being caught in the groin by Marcos, but after being having taken the full five count… he was unable to continue.

Therefore, the fight was officially waved off and deemed a no-contest at 3:28 in the second round – leaving both fighters distraught.

Aoriqileng wasn’t the only UFC fighter to head to the hospital on Saturday night. Both Ihor Potieria and Fernie Garcia were both taken in for precautionary CT scans.

Meanwhile, Pyfer’s role as the new UFC golden boy got knocked down a few pegs on Saturday, when he suffered a unanimous-decision loss to Hermansson.

The five-round headlining fight saw Hermansson dominate the last three rounds of the fight to earn a 48-47 verdict on all three judges scorecards.

Pyfer appeared to run out of steam in the third five-minute round after getting the better of Hermansson with strikes during the first 10 minutes of the fight.

This was Pyfer’s first loss with the promotion and his first scrap inside the Octagon that went to the judge’s scorecards.

The bout in Las Vegas on Saturday night also marked the first time Pyfer had headlined an event for the promotion.

Hermansson has been with the UFC since 2016 and was by far the most experienced fighter Pyfer has faced with the promotion.
