West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus earns high praise for his first half brace against Wolves, with rival fans asking ‘Why didn’t we sign him when we had the chance?’ after his summer move from Ajax

West Ham’s Mohammed Kudus has earned high praise from social media users following his sterling first-half performance against Wolves on Sunday.

Kudus was able to score twice, in the 22nd and 32nd minutes, to give the hosts a comfortable cushion – the earliest brace ever scored in a Premier League game at the London Stadium, according to Opta

There were question marks over whether Kudus would work at the Hammers, following the Ghanaian’s £38m summer move from Dutch club Ajax, but his performances appear to show that he has been a canny signing for the Hammers.

One fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter): ‘It’s becoming Mohammed Kudus’ team now. What a strike to give the West Ham the lead against Wolves’, while a second noted: ‘Kudus is incredible man, always shows up for West Ham.’

Another football fan expressed that they were ‘surprised’ that West Ham were able to sign the Ghanaian, adding: ‘Kudus is a special talent’.

Lucas Paqueta set up both of Kudus’ first-half goals, the first coming when the Brazilian’s ball helped West Ham counter quickly from a Wolves corner, with the Ghanaian able to drill home into the bottom corner from outside the penalty box.

For the second, Paqueta found Kudus with a switch of play to the right hand side, and the former Ajax man was able to slide his ball across Dan Bentley’s goal and into the net.

Kudus rose through the youth system in Ghana, before moving to Danish club Nordsjaelland in 2018.
