Former Australian prime minister Paul Keating’s daughter Katherine made international headlines last month after video emerged of her leaving paedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s New York mansion in 2010.
Keating, who was 29 at the time, was pictured leaving the dead billionaire’s Manhattan townhouse and being waved at by Prince Andrew nine years ago.
She visited Epstein’s home after he was released from a US prison after pleading guilty to child sex charges.
The following day, Prince Andrew was photographed walking in a park in New York with Epstein, but the now-infamous photo also only surfaced in August this year.
Australians were shocked by Keating’s surprise connection to Prince Andrew and Epstein, who committed suicide in a Manhattan jail cell just a week before the photos surfaced.
The pair met as they continued a friendship that had been struck up months earlier.
Keating and the prince – who is eighth in line to the British throne – met each other at a prestigious party in Dubai nine months before they were snapped together, the Sydney Morning Herald reported.

The unlikely pair were among the guests attending the opening of Meydan Racecourse in the Arabian city in March 2010.
Keating was seen next to Prince Andrew a number of times during festivities to celebrate the grand opening of the facility.
‘They looked to be getting on very well and I saw her with him several times over the course of the weekend. The appeared very friendly but it was clear she had only met him on that weekend,’ a guest at the party, who wishes to remain anonymous, told SMH.
Keating was unknown by many of the party’s international guests, but a number of high profile Australians recognised the daughter of Australia’s 24th prime minister.
‘A few of us made note of her, especially when she was getting along so well with Prince Andrew,’ the guest said.
Keating moved to New York from Sydney in 2010, and soon after struck up a romance with one of Epstein’s associates, millionaire Andre Balazs, who was 53 at the time.
Balazs, a hotelier and socialite, had his name mentioned in Epstein’s ‘black book.’
Before long Keating was in Epstein’s social vicinity, and even formed a friendship with his ex-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.
The British socialite invited Keating to Manhattan’s high society cocktail parties where she rubbed shoulders with the who’s-who of New York City.
After the bombshell footage emerged, her father Paul Keating’s secretary told DailyMail.com he was ‘aware of what the enquiry was about, but he would not be making a comment’.
The video, first published by the Mail on Sunday, plunged Prince Andrew into fresh controversy over his relationship with Epstein.
The video was taken in December 2010, less than 24 hours before an infamous photograph of the two men strolling in Central Park, and two months after Keating’s move to the US.
Keating was one of two brunette young women seen coming or going; so too was a young blonde girl who left with Epstein himself.
Inside the ‘madam’s’ lair: As well as apparently spending time in 2010 at Epstein’s home, Katherine Keating partied in 2013 at Ghislaine Maxwell’s E65th St Manhattan townhouse with Mark Bakacs (pictured with Keating)
There is no suggestion Keating was aware of or involved in any of Mr Epstein’s criminal activities. She had been contacted multiple times for comment by DailyMail.com without responding.
At the time the photographs were taken, Epstein was already a convicted child sex offender.
Katherine Keating also once worked with the outspoken feminist journalist Gloria Steinem.
Epstein – who took his own life earlier this month – was on a child sex offender register, yet one observer told The Mail on Sunday that several of the women leaving and entering the home while Andrew was apparently inside ‘looked very young indeed’.
