Why Is Everyone Obsessed with ChatGPT?

ChatGPT has taken over the world since OpenAI released this artificial intelligence tool in November 2022. Everyone is eager to operate and explore this magnificent tool. Programmers started using it to run their queries; content writers started generating content on ChatGPT.

You can now create content of all sorts, from coding to poetry, using ChatGPT. However, the question remains. How accurate are the searches in ChatGPT? This blog will answer this question through real-time examples.

What is ChatGPT?

ChatGPT stands for chat-based generative pre-trained transformer. OpenAI launched ChatGPT on 30th November 2022. GPT (Generative Pre-training Transformer) is trained to create text in natural language.

GPT can be adjusted for various language generation tasks, including chatbot responses, translation, and summarization. When used to produce answers in a chat or messaging setting, it is referred to as ChatGPT.

Is ChatGPT Free?

ChatGPT is free to use for all in the previewing phase. This is to take feedback on the results. The feedback will make the producers of the application modify it to make it better.

What Can ChatGPT Do?

ChatGPT responds to your questions just like a Linux terminal. It is an extremely easy-to-use tool. You just write in your query, and it gives a response to it. An example is illustrated below. A simple query, “tell me a joke,” is written, and ChatGPT responds to it.

You can further run your queries in response to it, and it keeps giving answers.

Looks fun, doesn’t it? Although it can perform various tasks, Here are a few things that ChatGPT is capable of doing.

1. Answer To Questions

It can answer all questions related to any subject or level. For example, asking, “How to choose the best dissertation writing services?” will provide you with detailed tips to consider before choosing any option.

2. Generate Content

ChatGPT can write content on the spot for you. Whether it is an essay, poem, or anything, you can rely on the tool for it. I requested a poem on writing and received an original poem promptly.

3. Tests

Although the results aren’t satisfactory, it is quite impressive and transforming that ChatGPT, an AI tool, was able to do it. With time, there will be further modifications, hopefully. You can put in the questions, and it will respond to all queries.

4. Rewrite Content

ChatGPT allows you to modify your content if you want to add elegance and perfection to your writing.

The rewriting could be in any style. I love Jane Austen. I asked ChatGPT to rewrite my content, “As the river flows beside me, I am captivated by the speed”, in Jane Austen’s style. Just see how easy it is!

You can even ask ChatGPT to rewrite content in your own tone which makes it highly efficient. An example of such is when Lance Ulanoff asked ChatGPT to write a 350 words news story on the impact of ChatGPT using his style.

5. Explain Like A Tutor

It is fascinating to see how ChatGPT explains your problems, whether they are code-related or subject related. It’s like your very own free tutor! For example, if I want to learn about classes in C++, I will just put it in the tool, and it will thoroughly explain the entire topic.

6. Write And Debug Your Code

This is highly revolutionizing. Something that wasn’t possible before. Yes, you are reading it right. ChatGPT allows you to write and debug your code entirely. Moreover, it fully understands the code regardless of the length of the code.

The given query is “write a code to calculate the average of ‘n’  numbers”. Here’s how ChatGPT responded.

The beauty of ChatGPT is that it not only responds to the query but also explains at the end what is happening in the entire code.

Limitations of ChatGPT

Before going deeper into the limitations of ChatGPT, let’s ask it for the answer.

As indicated by ChatGPT itself, there are a few limitations to using it since it has been trained using patterns and has no access to the outside world.

Not Always Accurate: Since ChatGPT is an AI tool, it is not always accurate. The best way to explain the point is by using a query we have all heard at least once. “When I was 6, my sister was half my age. Now I am 70. How old is my sister?”.

Although many people still can’t figure it out, any sensible person knows that the answer to the riddle is 67. Remember how we used to laugh at people who would say 35 because 70 divided by two is 35? That’s how ChatGPT responded to it!

Many people have used the term “hilarious” for the wrong queries given by the tool.

Biased Results: It has been reported that ChatGPT generates biased results that might hurt a specific demographic. The training data does not consider minority groups, thus producing biased content.

Sustainability: Considering that ChatGPT is free and is running various queries for people, it is hard to say how sustainable the tool is.

Answers Depend On The Input Quality: The output is dependent on how well you give the input. The quality will effect if you are unable to convey your query to the tool.

Malicious Code And Emails: There has been an observation that many people are using ChatGPT to create malicious codes and emails.

Is ChatGPT Taking Over Google?

Before answering it ourselves, let’s ask ChatGPT what it thinks about replacing Google.

You read right! Even ChatGPT knows. There have been many AI Tools in the past that have tried to exceed Google. Even Quora is trying to launch a platform like ChatGPT to communicate with AI bots.

Google has been working for a very long time to develop its search engine, and it will take an even longer time for a new tool to take it over. Google itself has a chatbot, the LaMDA, which is highly efficient and can do conversations with people.

But even they know that chatbots cannot replace the traditional search engine. Google should, however, be worried about not staying behind the times to ChatGPT and keep releasing new updates.

However, with the passing of time, it might become a secondary threat to Google.

Conclusion

ChatGPT is undoubtedly a next-level tool and has revolutionized the world. However, it is imminent that it will soon become a paid tool. Moreover, you cannot entirely depend on the tool for your tasks as it has its limitations.
