It’s one of thousands of rescues by the Bondi lifeguards on the popular Sydney beach each year.
A Waverley Council spokeswoman described it as a ‘fairly routine day’ and the only people that needed to be rescued were weak swimmers.
‘The information I have from lifeguards is that nothing out of the ordinary today,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.
‘There were no serious rescues and there were no resuscitations. We had the same number of rescues for a day with 25,000 people at the beach and a bit of a swell.’
The lifeguards not only patrol the iconic beach but are also the stars of Channel 10’s Bondi Rescue, which is now in its 13th season.
