Woman orders hundreds of free carpet samples on Amazon

A woman has revealed how she scored hundred of free carpet samples after figuring out a trick on Amazon.

Posting the results of her haul on Imgur, user RowdyMcMenace shared that she initially ordered a couple of free samples as she thought they would make good scratching mats for her cat.

However, after she deemed the first batch unsuitable, the woman took to the online store once again to order different designs, but got carried away and ended up requesting hundreds more.

When they arrived on her doorstep, there were so many, her boyfriend had to help the delivery guy bring them inside.

Speaking to Bored Panda, she explained: ‘It started off innocently enough. I found this cool feature on Amazon to get free carpet swatches and thought they would make a neat cat scratcher and they’re free so…

‘I am on night shift so I was woken up to this. The delivery guy is not happy. I swear I didn’t realize I ordered this many and I thought they were all going to be small!’

While some people might feel guilty about ordering so many unnecessary samples that are designed to aid people before making a genuine carpet purchase, the woman initially didn’t feel any remorse.

‘I never requested these under the pretense of making a purchase, and if a company can not afford to give away free swatches then they shouldn’t offer,’ she added.

However, upon reflection, she now sees how wasteful it was to order so many and is hoping to rectify her mistake by donating the excess to animal shelters and schools.

‘In a couple days I’ll have the post up dropping stuff off at all the shelters and if folks are ok with it I’ll ask for pics of the shelter animals actually getting to use them, she explained.

‘If the shelters don’t feel like they’re a safe or practical donation my next move is to donate them to a couple teachers for their classrooms.’

‘I can’t bring myself to sell something I got for free,’ she explained.

‘I’d much rather donate and share.’
