Woman suffers huge cake fail after being given very different dessert to one she ordered

A baker has left hundreds of people outraged after delivering a cake that looked nothing like what was ordered.

A woman shared a photo showing the cake her friend ordered for her birthday party, which looked wildly different to what arrived.

The woman asked for a one-tiered version of a gorgeous three-layered multicoloured with a beautiful ombre effect.

It was topped with a large fondant bow with ‘Happy Birthday’ written across it in stunning cursive black icing.

It has yellow, pink and blue rounded sweets on top, with spots and lines of various icing contrasting colours, making it sure to delight at any party.

But what arrived was a far cry for the kaleidoscopic delight that was ordered.

The cake was a mouldy- yellow colour and single layer, with coloured dots on the outside and a salmon-coloured bow.

The bow appeared to be filled with kitchen towels.

People were left shocked after the post was shared to Facebook.

‘I would be embarrassed to be a baker and send a cake off like that to a customer. There’s no way I could do that. They have no shame I guess,’ one person wrote.

‘I hope she didn’t pay for it,’ added another.

‘I need to know. Did they offer any type of explanation or was this just handed to her straight faced?’ said a third.

‘Did they accidentally give you someone else’s cake? Because that’s the only semi-acceptable excuse for this mess. Why is there paper towels in the bow loops?’ asked another.

‘You ordered a gorgeous professional cake and received someone’s first attempt ever at decorating a cake. Ouch,’ penned one person.

‘Asked for rainbow got dirty paper towel,’ joked another.

One baker even offered their own insight into what may have gone wrong.

‘Oh boy. They used a paper towel to smooth the cake icing, a method I have never and would never used. Their airbrush gun was dirty, hence the muddled colours of the cake.

‘The fondant work isn’t bad, but she didn’t colour the actual fondant – she airbrushed it so it looks terrible.

‘The paper towels in the bow are to hold the shape until the fondant hardens – this is a step that should’ve been done before you picked it up. I have fears about how clean this baker’s kitchen is. Grotesque,’ she added.

Another likened it to the viral ‘Trilby’ cake – referring to a viral dispute over an $84 birthday cake has sparked outrage on social media, with the baker being slammed by ‘fake’ customers who are leaving angry reviews in what she says is an attempt to ruin her business.

Kylie Allen, who owns her own company, Kylie Kakes in Princeton, West Virginia, took to TikTok to detail the ‘worst client experience’ she’s ever had, explaining how she was furiously criticised by a customer after baking a rainbow sprinkle cake for her.

In the video, which garnered over 4.9 million views, the baker revealed that the customer,  Ashleigh Freeman, bought a cake for her mum’s birthday in April.

Ashleigh paid $84 [127AUD] for the dessert, however, she was less than satisfied and following Kylie’s video, she decided to share her own version of the story on TikTok.

After Kylie’s clip garnered viral success, Ashleigh decided to share her own version of the story, with pictures of the cake that she said looked like ‘s***.’

Ashleigh said the cake was not worth the hefty price tag, and many social media users agreed with her, claiming the writing and sprinkles brought the quality of the cake down.

Recently, a Texas baker misread a  customer’s request for a four-year-old’s Elmo cake – and instead created a gothic emo design for the youngster.

Meanwhile, a woman has left millions in hysterics after revealing the ‘hot mess’ of a cake that cost her $450.

She explained that while she wasn't at the store when Ashleigh picked up her cake, her husband was there and received a complaint about 30 minutes after the customer left
