Couple found passed out behind the wheel in Perth

A man and a woman have been found unresponsive in their ute as they held up traffic on a busy highway.

The pair were in a vehicle on Leach Highway in Perth on Friday about 9pm, 7 News reported.

Motorists behind the ute started to become frustrated, before someone went to see what was going on.

When police arrived the driver was still unresponsive and not able to be tested for drugs or alcohol

Witness Aaron Gliddon said people were ‘beeping like crazy’ but the man and the woman didn’t budge.

Mr Gliddon said the woman ‘looked like she was dead.’

When police arrived the driver was still unresponsive and not able to be tested for drugs or alcohol.

He was later taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital.

His passenger woke up but refused treatment.

Police are investigating if the driver was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
