Samantha described the youth who kicked Scout as a white male aged 17 to 19 years old who was very short for his age.

She said he was wearing a pair of Nike Air Max trainers and a black or blue puffer jacket plus sleeveless black jeans.

Scotland Yard confirmed a vet reported a dead puppy had been brought in.

Speaking to The Sun, a spokesman said: ‘The male who had brought the puppy in stated it had been injured in Raphael Park, Romford, around an hour previously. The RSPCA has been informed.’ The RSPCA declined to comment while police are investigating.

Samantha bought Scout after a previous Pomeranian pet was run over and killed three months ago.
