A spokesperson for Albanese stated he was ‘heavily shaken’ but ‘okay’, with the other driver uninjured.

Daily Mail Australia understands Albanese was alone in the car at the time of the accident.

Witnesses said Albanese’s car appeared to be ‘t-boned’at an intersection, with the politician reportedly appearing to point to his left shoulder while talking with paramedics after the crash.

Another witness report said a P-plate driver allegedly collided with the vehicle Mr Albanese was in.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said officers have been told the Camry was hit by a black Range Rover driven by a man, 17.

‘The driver of the Toyota, a man aged 57, was treated at the scene before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition,’ the spokeswoman said.

‘Officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

‘Inquiries are continuing.’
