Former Home and Away star Demi Harman announces her engagement

Former Home and Away star Demi Harman has announced her engagement to American assistant producer Andrew Brooks. 

The 26-year-old actress shared the news with her fans via Instagram on Thursday.

Demi shared a photo of herself showing off her new diamond ring and revealed in the caption how Andrew had proposed on the Fourth of July. 

She captioned the post with a U.S. Independence Day pun, writing: ‘Just said yes, FOUR-ever! #happyfourth #brooksfourlyf’.

Demi, who now lives in America, revealed the couple had celebrated the public holiday in Michigan wearing red, white and blue outfits. 

In an Instagram post from before announcing the engagement, the couple were shown holding hands and gazing into each other’s eyes.

‘Michi-man of my dreams,’ she wrote in the caption, presumably referencing the Midwestern state of Michigan. 

Demi and Andrew, who works behind the scenes on ABC sitcom Modern Family, debuted their relationship in February 2018. 

They began dating after Demi split from her Home and Away co-star, Alec Snow.

Demi and Alec had dated from 2014 until late 2017, when she relocated from Australia to the U.S. 

Demi is perhaps best known for her role as Sasha Bezmel in Home and Away between 2011 and 2015.

In 2012, she was nominated for the Most Popular New Female Talent Logie Award.
